Almost...
I've been sewing Lamia's dress all day long - yet it's still not finished...! >.< However, it still looks great, even if it's not ready...
So, it looks like this...
...and here it is on my dear Lamia~
I am pretty proud of the double-skirt part, it just looks like as I imagined! And the sleeves as well~ Even though they are a bit long, I will cut them a bit tomorrow...
...and to be honest, there's a lot to do with this dress tomorrow: it's too big, for example. ='D I made it a bit bigger than Lamia on purpose, because there is no zipper sewn in the dress. I wanted to solve the problem with shirring, but the dress is still bigger than I expected... (That's why Lamia holds his arms like this - otherwise the dress would just slip down. x'D) Aaaaand we have a major problem up here...
Yyyyyyep. That decolletage is a bit... well... bold. =') I have totally no idea how did I manage to sew it like this... ^^" So I'll need to find a solution for that too tomorrow... Still a lot to do, a lot to do... ...and here it is on my dear Lamia~

Broken Sculptures
Unfortunately I couldn't finish Lamia's new dress yet, because I had other things to do... However, today, Kishi and I went on a little trip and took a looooot of photos of our dolls~ Actually, we originally wanted to go to the Budapest City Park and the Vajdahunyad Castle, but we took a short trip to a place where I wanted to take some pictures of Lamia really long ago. (Then of course we went back to the plan and went to the City Park, but I leave those pictures for the next post. =P)
So, here they are, Lamia and the broken sculptures.
These statues can be found in the Wagner Palace. Some time ago, Paloma Project started to develop in this building, and since then there are a lot of creative art and design shops along the arcades. But for now I found the sculptures way more interesting for taking photos. xD
Somehow they are dreadfully beautiful...
...Especially this one. The other statue's eyes are closed - but this one is constantly looking at the viewer.

Literally, from every angle. x'D (Kishi told me it looks like the angel statues in Doctor Who. =D)
Next time I will show you the other photos - we took maaaaaany! - but for now, that's all. I hope you like them as much as I do. =)

Work in progress
Hi there!
I finally got over my "I-dunwannado-anything" phase that made me unable to work on new clothes for the past few days, and I started to sew Lamia's new clothes for his birthday. =) It's a bit late now however, and I can clearly see the "Finally...!" expression on his face. ^^" But here are the results of today's work:
It's halfway done, I will put some more lace on the top of the bodice. But I'm pretty proud of the shape, I've never done something like this before. =D
And the lower part turned out just as I've imagined! x3 I was experimenting with a new method of cutting pieces, and I'm so glad it worked as I wanted!
Aaaaand this piece is about to be sewed under the lace-part. I hope it will end up good - and Lamia will like it... (He is a bit mad at me because I didn't buy him anything on his birthday, and I dared to come home with a violin for Gloria... ^^" A few days later I bought him a little mirror as an apology, but it didn't really satisfy him... So I promised to sew him four new dresses - one as the original present, one as an apology for being late, one as an apology for Gloria's violin and one for the fun. x'D) I finally got over my "I-dunwannado-anything" phase that made me unable to work on new clothes for the past few days, and I started to sew Lamia's new clothes for his birthday. =) It's a bit late now however, and I can clearly see the "Finally...!" expression on his face. ^^" But here are the results of today's work:

Dance of the King Knight
I just realised by accident that one of the most listened Ali Project tracks on my playlist, King Knight, elaborates the beginning of Prokofiev's Dance of the Knights from Romeo and Juliet. It was surprising... =D
I hope you like Prokofiev and/or Ali Project as much as I do. =)
30 Day BJD Challenge - Day 30
30) Have you ever been to a doll meetup? Did you enjoy it/do you plan to go to one in the future?
Yepp, I've been to several doll meetups, and I've enjoyed aaaaaaall of them! x3
Actually, the last one was a few days ago, on the 20th of June. Our close circle of friends who are both into BJDs and lolita fashion held a little Birthday and Goodbye Party for one of us, and it was organised in a local Japanese restaurant called Komachi Bistro. It was great, we talked a lot and the food was delicious~
And, of course, we took a lot of pictures of our dolls - I show you a few if you don't mind. x3 First, Liani started to take photos of Lamia with her phone - and I really love the way she made him pose~
And it seems like we finished the 30 Day BJD Challenge~ Hurray~ x3

This one is my favourite somehow... x3
Then Kishi borrowed my phone and took some pictures of Gloria and Mark - he is Kishi's boy, and he is sooo adorable! * - * Even without his faceup! (And they look really cute together. x3)
She is Ame, Rin-chan's new YoSD girl~
And then I got back my phone and took some lovely pictures of Mark and Lamia~ (Probably Mark is not aware of the fact that Lamia is a boy, but who cares until they look sooo gorgeous together! * - *)
There, that's all. I hope you like them. =3And it seems like we finished the 30 Day BJD Challenge~ Hurray~ x3

30 Day BJD Challenge - Day 29
29) Post a picture of your dolls exploring the outside world!
There you go!
Not only one, but three! =D Since I don't have outside pictures of Gloria, I thought I upload these photos. ^^ They were taken in April. At that time, there was a Sakura Matsuri in the Botanical Garden of Budapest so we decided to take our dolls for a trip there with my dear friend, Kishi.
I hope you like the photos. ^^

30 Day BJD Challenge - Day 28
28) Post a crazy/silly pose!
...Lamia will kill me. Seriously.
This photo was taken in December, a few days after he arrived - still without clothes and wig and faceup, I just couldn't resist to try how many poses can he make... This one is my favourite. Be gentle, okay? xD
(Lamia: "You will not survive this night, darling.")

30 Day BJD Challenge - Day 27
27) Do you have a favourite out of your own dolls? (Don’t worry, we won’t tell the others ;D)
Haha! No, I don't think so. =D Lamia would kill me if I say anyone else instead of him (and since he is a vampire, he can read my mind unfortunately xD), so let's just say he is my favourite. =) But I love Gloria and him equally. Both characters are kind of parts of me. =)

30 Day BJD Challenge - Day 26
26) Done your own faceups? (Again, do you think you’d do that?)
Not yet. ^^" And I probably won't in the future... Not because I'm afraid - actually, doing a faceup seems less frightening than modding a doll - but I don't think I'll own that many dolls to buy all the stuff to do their faceups - the paint, the brushes, the mask, the glasses, the MSC/Citadel... It's just too much, and I'm not planning to become a face-up artist. =S (For the modding, I know the glasses and the mask are necessary also, but probably someone will be kind enough to lend them to me for once, if I ask very nicely. xD)

30 Day BJD Challenge - Day 25
25) Have you ever modded a doll? (Do you think that you would?)
No, not yet. I don't have the equipment - and the courage xD - to modd a doll... However...
In the faraway future, it will be necessary for me to do so... xD The next doll that I'll purchase, according to plan - let's call it "Valhalla Project" for now x) - will have several scars and stitches on his whole body - and I want to be the one who makes them. Just... Just because. (Although I will ask someone who has more experience to watch over me before I ruin the whole body... x'D)

30 Day BJD Challenge - Day 24
24) What about your favourite part of the hobby?
Now that's a better question than the one before! =D And my answer is: the dolls themselves. =) I love to read about their characters, I love to read stories with them, I love the photoshoots and photostories, I love to see "work in progress" pictures of others' dollclothes, wigs, face ups, bodyblushes, modds, and everything! I love to see others' creativity and fantasy - I think that's the most inspirating part of the hobby and the part that I love the most. x3

30 Day BJD Challenge - Day 23
23) Is there a part of the BJD hobby that you dislike?
To be honest, I don't think there is anything that I could dislike in the hobby. I mean, collecting dolls and creating characters, giving them clothes and stuff is great in itself. I have problems with some people's attitude toward others.
I don't like spreading rumours and gossips. I don't like when X hates Y because Y has different taste or style or interest or opinion or whatever. I don't like drama for no reason. But this is something that's connected to human nature, not to the BJD hobby. Actually, in every hobby that creates a community, gossiping and hating others is a common thing... But that's okay. Nobody can help it. I just don't really like it, that's all. =)

30 Day BJD Challenge - Day 21
21) One doll you love, but will never (probably) buy?
Haha, I have not only one, but six - at least!
First:
Doll Leaves Puppet 02. I love her. I love the puppet-concept. I love her dress, her wig, her eyes, her faceup - everything!! And she is in MSD size! ...But she is over the price that I would pay for her. (579$...!! It's just... Too much. Okay, she's limited and comes in fullset, with dresses, wig, eyes, and faceup, but come on...!! I'm sorry, but I would never ever pay this amount of money for ONE doll.)
Second:
Volks Hatsune Miku. She was limited edition, of course. Not to mention that Volks doesn't ship to Europe. But a few days ago I saw a secondhand one for sale in a BJD adoption group on Facebook, but then again, she is too expensive. At least for me. And I'm not a fan of her that much... (However, if Volks comes out with the Kagamine-twins... Then I'm pretty sure I will be in a big-big-big trouble... Please, Volks, don't kill me.)
Third and fourth:
Doll Zone Anita and Eugenia. I'd definately name them Odette and Odile from Swan Lake. If I'd be willing to pay 215$ for each with 19.5 cm height. xD (Excuse me, but they are too small for the price. And I'm not really into YoSD size, as I mentioned before a few times... But oh my god, they are just gorgeous...!)
Fifth:
Doll Chateau's brand new YoSD size girl, Clara. She just came out a few days ago and she stole my heart. A cute little lolita, that's what she is!! And I looooove her! (And her shoes. xD) But then again, the size... (Not to mention her price... ='D)
And as the sixth, I'd like to write Volks Suigintou from the Rozen Maiden (limited of course) series, but if I think about her, I just can't imagine not to buy the rest of the Rozen Maiden dolls as well... Especially Shinku. It's... It's a beautiful sculpt. But then again, what the hell would I do with all of them - I do NOT need so many dolls! x'D
That's all I think... However, if I were a millionaire, I guess I wouldn't put any dolls on this "I love them but I'd never buy them"-list, because I'd buy all of them. xD

30 Day BJD Challenge - Day 16
16) Can any of your crew stand on their heads? (Show us~)
...I stared at Lamia and Gloria with the intention to move them, then the following conversation happened between us in my head:
Lamia: "Ladies first."
Gloria: "You could be a lady..."
Lamia: "...if you cut my genitals."
Me: "Excuse me... But this is a challenge and I'm curious if you could..."
Lamia: "Do not even think about it."
Me: "...Pretty please?"
Lamia: "I refuse."
Me: "...Then I assume you are not able to stand on your head."
Lamia: "...No, but I am able to stand on yours."
Me: "Ouch! But... You've always been so challenging, what's now? It's not shameful at all to try..."
Lamia: "You know what? I will try."
Me: "Really?!"
Lamia: "Really. Right after you show me how to."
Me: "...You are mean."
Lamia: "And you like me that way, don't you?"
Me: "Baah, forget it. Gloria, please, save me, can I try to..."
Gloria: "In this gorgeous dress you just made for me? And with this hair-do? Oh, no, I don't want them to be ruined!"
Me: "But it's just a..."
Gloria: "Nope. I don't have the right clothes."
Me: "...If I make you the right clothes, will you try to stand on your head?"
Gloria: "...Perhaps."
And that's what we agreed on. x'D

30 Day BJD Challenge - Day 15
15) What do your family think of your dolls?
Well... To answer this question, I'd like to write the first reactions of my family members, when they first encountered Lamia...
My grandpa: "This... This thing has a dick. Why does it has a dick?!"
My grandma: "...I hope you will put hair on it - and some clothes!"
My aunt: "Jesus Christ, why is it so white?! And its eyes...! Is it a vampire?! Put it back in the box!"
My cousin: "Hehe, it can move its fingers too? Nice."
My stepmother: "It's too skinny. It's anorexic. Put it away."
My father: "...I'm pretty sure you do not even want to hear my opinion about it."
...But at least, my little brother saved me from bursting out in tears:
"Oooooh, it's soooooo cool!! It really can move its every part?! And he has red eyes?! He is really a vampire?! I looooove it!!! Can I play with it a little? Please-please-please!"
But don't worry, my family members are slowly changing their opinions about them. =D Right now, since both Lamia and Gloria are fully dressed up, have shoes, wigs and eyes, my family became a bit accepting about them. A few days ago my granny said that they look quite nice together, and my grandpa used the word "gloomy" for their face instead of "ugly"! (And actually he stopped to blackmail me with that he will break my dolls if I fail at my exams...) It's a great step from my grandparents! Really!
And last month, when I was planning about visiting my parents in August, I asked my father if I can bring my dolls to make some photoshoots at their place (they're living in a really nice city with a beautiful forest and a lovely scenario) - and he told me it's okay! =D
But my little brother is the one who is always enthusiastic about my dolls - and actually all of my hobbies xD - so at least I have one person in my family, who is as interested in my dolls as myself. =D

30 Day BJD Challenge - Day 14
14) Have you ever had a floating head? What about a headless body? (What do you think you would do if you had either?)
I've had both! =)
As I said before, Gloria was a floating head for five months, her body arrived on the 19th of May - after a lot of stress, anxiety and fear on my side... - but until then she was usually kept in a box... Or sometimes I put her on Lamia's body, just for fun. =D (And she could have been a really pretty boy! O.o)
Here, she looked like this on a DF-H male body, and I must say I was really surprised... She made me think about her gender for at least three days. ='D But I kept her as a girl. I've had both! =)

And about a headless body... Well, there were a few weeks in March, when not only Lamia's head, but Gloria's one also was away from home... But Lamia's kimono just arrived in the mail - and being headless have never been an excuse for not taking photos of the new dress. =D Here is the result:
...I must say I'm pretty proud of this picture. xD
So, that's all for now I think. Once I really want to put Lamia's head on Gloria's body - just because I'm curious - but the strings in Gloria's body are still really tight, and I want to wait until they get loosen a bit. But then... =D
